Protein shake - Day 9

Still going strong and feeling GREAT.

Food yesterday:

Breakfast: WW cereal and yoghurt
Lunch: small packet of sushi (hubby bought it into work for me.....ohhhhh)
Dinner: berry shake and grapes

Snacks: 1 mini packet of sakata crackers (10 in each packet - 1 point)
Water: 4 litres

I have also been having 3 coffee's a day which is one more than I had planned but still think 3 is better than the 6 or 8 I usually have.
My carbs have been nearly non-existent and I haven't had bread in 9 days and feel fantastic for it.

I have the most annoying tickle in my throat which hasn't turned into anything (like a cold etc) but it is driving me crazy and the only thing that gets rid of it for a little while is gallons of water, hence my 4 litres yesterday. So really the negative of having the tickle has turned into a positive because I'm drinking my water without even thinking about it......LOL

Saturday I will be down at the fruit and vege market early and then going to get my hair cut and coloured (it sooooooo needs it) and then I'm off to have a look around the Upper Hutt Spring Fair. It is always a lovely fair and that's where I usually get Andrew and Dad's father's day presents. I'm also meeting a friend afterwards at a coffee shop up there to have a coffee and watch the people walking up and down the street (its a yearly thing we do - weird aye?).

We have a few friends coming over on Saturday night and we are going to try and have a BBQ, I'm hoping the weather is wrong (forecast is rain) because there will be 4+ kids and I want them outside as we only have a tiny house plus I don't want hubby to get too wet while cooking the BBQ.....hahaha.
I actually chose what we were going to have because I was trying to think of something that the adults AND kids will eat and a BBQ is meat and salad which will be easier to prepare and be excellent for my eating plan.

Sunday being fathers day, Andrew will get his BIG BREAKFAST with all the trimmings and then he and Dad are off to golf for most of the day and I will have a BIG ROAST DINNER for when they get home, so most of my day will be taken up cooking, cleaning up and cooking again (I'm such a good wifey).

I won't be around tomorrow as I have a full day course (Industrial Medic) and won't get to my computer, so I'll catch you all next week.......have a good one.

Weigh in

Lost: 1.3kg
Total loss: 21.1kg
Current Weight 89.2kg

Gotta love that and gotta love those shakes…………yeah baby!

Really please with that result and I am feeling so much better having lost that 1.3kgs.
I will stay on the shakes for another week and aim to lose the same if not more as I have given myself a kick in the butt about not exercising and have every intention of getting on that bike and walking this week. NO MORE EXCUSES!

My water has been brilliant (2.5 – 3.5 litres per day) and my food has been awesome, last night hubby made me a beautiful beef stir fry and won’t tell me the marinade/sauce he made it with (proberly because he can’t remember) as it was his own recipe.

I also got a really cool cookbook from WW last night as a “sorry you couldn’t weigh in last week because we didn’t have a key” and it has some really quick simple recipes in it. I have flagged about 3 or 4 I want to make straight away so when I do (if they are any good) I will post them on here with points value etc.

Righto, since I’ve been at work for 40 minutes best I go and do something – bye

I feel good.....da nah nah nah nah nah nah

Yep Tuesday morning and I am feeling awesome.
I have had a relatively good week with food/water/exercise and I feel heaps better for it. The shakes are still amazing me as far as flavour and how effective they are. I was saying to Helena on the weekend that I have set morning/lunch/afternoon tea at work and usually when that time arrives I am hunting for food because I am hungry but since being on the shakes, I haven't felt hungry (I'm not eating morning or afternoon tea) which amazes me no end.

Yesterday was a bit of a challenge as it was hubby's birthday and the kids wanted 'party' food and the old man wanted an ice-cream cake (healthly food - I think NOT!). So I did a huge bacon and egg pie and little party pies (mini savories) with fairy bread (kids love it).

That's what everyone had and I had (wait for it)..........cereal and yoghurt...hahahaha got I'm boring. So that was the 2nd time I had cereal and yoghurt yesterday (also had it for breakfast) but I really love it and it fills me up.

We also had friends (and my Dad) around to 'cut the cake' and we all had a piece. Now I have NEVER been an ice cream girl because the creaminess of the ice cream give's me reflux and I suffer for it but thought I would chance it as it was something I haven't had for years and guess what? MAJOR REFLUX all night (will I ever learn) so I was really peeved that I suffered for one little indulgence but it did give me resolve not to touch the bloody stuff again.

I also get reflux from pastry (hence no bacon & egg pie) mince and chops do it to me as well (fat content) so luckily for me I can quite easily stay away from this stuff 99% of the time.

God I ramble............

OK, weigh in tonight and I will be happy with whatever the scale gods bestow on me. I have no magic figure in my head of what I expect or anything, just a loss will be fine. Until tomorrow :)

Sunny Wellington Weekend

What a fabulous sunny, warm (not hot yet) weekend we had here in the capital.

Andrew went to golf so the boys and I thought about what we wanted to do and when I asked them if they wanted to go to the park or the Warehouse they chose the Warehouse.....hahahaha shopaholic's like their Mother (so proud *tear*).
Didn't really get anything, just went for a wander.

Saturday night we went to Lonestar for dinner (finally) and it was well worth the wait. I had heard the meals were huge so Andrew and I decided to share an entree (guacomole) and we didn't finish it as we really wanted to 'save' ourselves for the main. I had ordered the chicken breasts that were stuffed with mushrooms and other yummy stuff and then crumbed with a lovely mushroom sauce and Andrew got the stuffed pork and both came with roasted potato's and coleslaw (the coleslaw was amazing). So I ended up with 2 chicken breasts which blew me away and the only thing I managed to finish was the coleslaw and most of the chicken but I stayed away from the potato's (only a few) and Andrew also only got through about 3/4 before he admitted defeat. When asked for if we wanted the dessert menu we both said "yes please" and when we looked at it we decided there was NO WAY we could eat anything more.....LOL

BEAUTIFUL!! Really enjoyed it and can recommend it for a really good meal but be warned they are MAN size meals plus.

Wandered over the the Michael Fowler Centre and had a coffee/beer in the bar there and waited for the Tony Orlando show (he sings tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree - I kid you not!) which was Andrew's birthday present (he is 38 today) and I was DRAGGED along. He was a good performer and the band was brilliant but it really wasn't my sort of music, Andrew loved it and actually got up and danced to one song with all the other oldies......LOL The people next to us told us we were too young to be there and we were actually the youngest people there.

Sunday was breakfast/brunch with the girls (Janene, Chris H, Sue, Jenny, Anne, Jo & Rose) to have a last cuppa with Helena before she goes in for her op and it was excellent catching up with these women. It amazes me that we are all so different and come from different places but we all get on REALLY well.
We then headed in to the Women's Expo (minus Jo and Rose) for a wander around for a couple of hours and I really enjoyed it. I haven't been over to Chris H's blog this morning but I bet there are some fab photo's.
Grabbed a takeaway coffee (thanks again Sue) and headed up to Sue's apartment in town which was gorgeous.

Home by 3.30pm.........brilliant!

Sat down with the boys for a couple of hours and made birthday cards for Andrew with my card making stuff. Heaps of fun and they couldn't wait to give them to their Dad this morning (5.45am).

Protein shakes - I had two shakes on Friday and a lovely salad for dinner with a corner of Andrew's steak.
Saturday I had one shake for lunch (cereal & yoghurt for breakfast) and then Lonestar for dinner.
Sunday I had a shake in the morning before we left and then muesli, fruit and yoghurt with the girls at brunch and then a handful of raw cashew nuts when I got home and corned beef and salad for dinner.

Back into it today.....

Protein shake - day 2

i think I will record what I have eaten and whatnot so I can look back at it in future.

Hubby has decided that since I don't like the chocolate shake, he will have it and has found that he isn't snacking after dinner (he still eats 3 meals a day + the shake) which he thinks is great.

Breakfast: Berry shake
Lunch: 8x vitaweats with vegemite, grapes
Dinner: Vegetable stir fry and berry shake
Water: 3 litres

Great day I think and I wasn't hungry once! I even left some of my vege stir fry (unheard of) because I stopped and thought about if I was hungry rather than showelling it down my throat until it was finished.

Had a phone call from Adam's daycare yesterday morning to say he had fallen off the trampoline rebounder and cut his head (not enough for stitches) and they thought we needed to take him to the doctors to see if there was any real damage done. As Andrew was in the area, he went and got him and I got a phone call on the way to the doctors (from Andrew's car) from Adam saying "I got a cool hole in my head Mum"....LOL he is so different to my oldest who would have cried for a month.

Got checked out - all OK, back to daycare after his Daddy took him to McDonald's for lunch.

Went and got the grocery shopping after work and I have managed to get it down to $400.00 for a months worth and then I just top it up the other weeks. That doesn't include fruit and vege's which I have been getting from the Riverbank market we have here on a Saturday morning which usually costs me about $35.00 a week. So all up I am only spending $160.00 a week on groceries for a family of 4 which I reckon is bloody good. In days gone by when I use to shop weekly, I could spend about $250 - $300 easily. Mind you now the kids don't have nappies and formula that has saved heaps.

Even if I can say $10 a week that is $10 towards my spending money when I go to Aussie in January so I can buy CLOTHES.

Shake, shake, shake.......

Day 1 - done and dusted!

Breakfast - Berry shake.......yummo!
Lunch - WW cereal with yoghurt and some green and red grapes for lunch......yum.
Dinner - Mesculin salad leaves, cucumber, spring onion, red and green capcicum's, 60g shaved ham and a sprinkle of Lite Italian dressing......yum AND a chocolate shake (not so yum - I'm not a chocolate girl).
Water: 2.5litres

I usually get peckish about 9pm and last night I was shocked to see it was 9.45pm and I was thinking of going to bed and I hadn't even thought of food (gotta love that).

Was suppose to do my ironing and exercise bike last night BUT (here comes the excuse) it was SO COLD so I cuddled up to my husband on the floor in front of the fire watching mindless TV.

Feeling GREAT, chat tomorrow - Bye *waves*

Weigh in ..... NOT!

No weigh in this week as the leader and the weigher didn't pick up the key because another girl does BUT she didn't turn up, so after 15 minutes of waiting in the cold we all left and were told we would have a FREE meeting next week.

Anyway I went straight home and jumped on my scales which said 90.8kg which are 300g difference from the WW scales which means I stayed the same (I think), so I'm going with that.

Got up this morning and prepared my food/shakes for the day and drank my 1st cup of coffee with trim milk and sweetner (only having 2 coffee's a day).

Breakfast will be a berry shake
Lunch will be WW cereal (I love this stuff) with fruit (grapes)
Dinner will be another shake (chocolate this time) with a salad.

See how we go......

Protein Shakes

Yep I'm gunna try the ole protein shakes.

I feel I need to get back into the swing of things and drop a couple of kilo's to get my head back in the right place and I am doing my usual thing which is trying to not put on weight rather than trying to lose weight.

So I am weighing in tonight and starting the protein shakes tomorrow. I have also gone out and gotten some low GI fruits which I will have with my protein shake and then limit my evening meal to a small amount of protein and lots of either steamed vege's or salad. I am going completely cold turkey with all carbs (bread, potoato's, pasta, rice etc) and lowering my dairy intake as well as cutting out all alcohol.

I will do this for 2 weeks only as I know it isn't sustainable long term and I don't want to be substituting my meals for shakes as I really enjoy food but I need to get some control back as my portions are getting bigger and I am picking HEAPS more because I think I'm hungry and I'M NOT!

LET THE SHAKES BEGIN....................

On other totally unrelated news, I had a lovely weekend which started with me up and out of the house at 7.30am to the Hutt to get my fruit and vege's and then back to pick up the hubby, father and kids and get down to soccer which we discovered was cancelled when we got there (I really need to listen to the radio in the mornings).

Helena came around for a coffee and we talked non stop (as we do) for a couple of hours (thanks mate, love your visits).

Then got the thomas the tank engine train tracks etc out and built a massive track in the loungeroom which the kids thought was 'cool'.

Saturday night we had one of Andrew's friends come around for a couple of hours to visit.

Sunday - Totally Mum and the boys!!
Went to the warehouse and got one of Reece's mates a present for his birthday next week then asked them what they wanted to do and they wanted to 'go visit people'......hahaha social little butterflies just like their mother.
We ended up at my eldest sisters for banana piklets (yep I had 3) and muffins (didn't have any muffins) then went to another friends where it was just coffee and the kids ran around for a couple of hours........nice.

Got home just before Andrew came home from golf, cooked an easy dinner (eggs on toast for the boys with sausages) and I had a vegetable stir fry.

NO ALCOHOL, what a bugger!

Kids weekend

Well as the title suggests, it is going to be a kids weekend. Seeing as I have spent the last two weekend's away I want to spend some time with the boys.
I have a funny feeling soccer won't be on tomorrow if the forecast is correct (yay!) so I will get out all their Thomas trains, lego, colouring books etc and just have a games weekend.

I have the wonderful Helena visiting me tomorrow for a coffee and that's about it as far as visitors go.

Yesterday I went to Mitre 10 Mega with Jo (birthday girl) for our usual chicken salad (creatures of habit) and treated myself to a triple chocolate brownie....hehehe. I figured that since I had a TRIM latte and a chicken salad, I needed to balance that out with something sweet and yummy with yoghurt on the side of course....LOL.

Drank all my water yesterday (3 litres) and finished the day off with Lasagne and salad for dinner.

Tonight I am popping into a girlfriends after work for a coffee and catchup and then home to a cooked dinner hopefully (Andrew is at home today).

Right that is my exciting life, hope everyone has a fab weekend and I'll catch you all on Monday.

Weigh in

Lost: 300g
Total Loss: 19.8kg
Current Weight: 90.5kg

SO not complaining about THAT!!

I'm hoping my weekend doesn't catch up with me next week but for now I am rapt with a loss.

I've been mulling over weather to do The Ultimate Cleanse that Lyn is currently doing because I have been feeling very sluggish and yuk and a good ole clean out sounds like the ticket. I must admit I am a bit scared at the limited amount you can eat and I am watching and waiting to see how Lyn does (sorry Lyn) before jumping in.

Here is the link in case anyone is interested in what I'm talking about.

I'm hoping to take Jo out for her birthday tomorrow if she's available (such a busy girl that one....LOL) and the darling Helena is coming to visit me for a coffee and gasbag on Saturday so two things to look forward to this week.
That reminds me, I'd better email Jo and see if she's still on for Mitre 10 (of course).

Auckland weekend

*UPDATE*

In case you missed it in the post below, I ate very high in fat foods. I didn't make good choices when out and the only liquid I drank was coffee and wine (+ 1 margarita) which means I didn't drink any water apart from the glass I had Sunday morning with a berroca added.

I didn't once think about it, I ate and drank what I wanted, I had a fabulous time but know THAT'S IT now. I have had 2 weekends away and I am ultimately going to pay for this one on the scales this week (like I did with last week) but I don't mind as I had a blast.

BUT - today is Monday and I am back into it. My bowl of cereal this morning was the best thing every and I have had 2 litres of water already and feel fantastic.

OK, original post below

PEACE OUT ;0)

HAD A FANTASTIC TIME
LOVE AUCKLAND

Jo and I arrived Friday (lunch time) and hit the shops on K'Rd and Queens St, didn't buy anything apart from food (panini and coffee) but got in a few hours and were truely amazed at some of the sights (people, fashion).
Jax arrived at about 6.30pm and we downed a bottle of wine (or two) and nibbled on cheese and crackers then headed out to Thai for dinner and again ended up looking at the sites on K'Rd (boy/girls with REALLY high heels and sleezy pubs and young boys hugging in the streets.....very sad some of it).

HOME BY 10.30pm...............LOL nana's.

Saturday we were all awake at 6.45am (WTF???) so got up, had a coffee and some panadol and berroca and chatted until about 9am and then headed to a nice cafe on Ponsonby road. I had corn fritters with bacon and mushrooms which was devine.
Headed to St Lukes Mall as we all prefer malls to street shopping and I managed to get a really funky top (in picture to follow) and I loved it but did feel like I had stepped out of an Austin Powers movie (groovy baby) and of course a nice new bra to go with it. We walked around that mall for nearly 6 hours and all got nice new clothes and Jo and I went for a pedicure (forgot we had sneakers on and walked around for an hour with no shoes.....hehehe thank god we didn't know anyone) and Jax got a head and neck massage.

Grabbed some sushi and went home and did the showers, make up and manicure (I have a kit) and got stuck into the cheese and crackers and wine again (I know, I know).
Headed out about 8.30pm to a really nice Mexican restaurant (we just got mains - I had a burrito thing with HEAPS of salad) and I had my very first Magarita (average).
We then headed to a bar/nightclub called Booey Wonderland (we have one in Wgtn as well) and it was OK but there were lots of smelly people (BO) and I HATE that so we mainly watched the goings on and then cabbed it home about 12.30am (better effort).

Sunday morning Jo had to leave on an early flight so we waved her goodbye and then headed down to the Viaduct harbour for breakfast at a place called Mecca which was beautiful and I managed to eat the Mecca Big Breakfast and two Bowls of trim latte.

We had parked about 500 metres away from the viaduct because we weren't paying $18.00 for an hours parking (I kid you not) and as we left the skies opened up and we got soaked and I mean soaked. Luckily we had checked-out of our hotel so all our clothes were in our bags in the car, so we high tailed it to Sylvia Park shopping mall and got changed in the carpark (the hair was a no go) before spending a few hours there (Thai again for lunch) and then heading towards the Auckland airport but having to stop at Manukau shopping mall.

Got to the airport at 3.15pm as I had to check-in at 3.30pm for my 4pm flight and was then told the flight was delayed until 5.10pm....gggrrrrr! We ended up leaving Auckland at 5.40pm and got in at Wellington at 6.40pm. The kids (who had driven their father mental all weekend *giggle* were all excited (as they had been at the airport for hours) and very tired as they hadn't eaten dinner so it was a quick trip to McDonalds on the way home (god I love Boss burgers) and walked in the door at 8pm last night.

FULL ON WEEKEND but BRILLIANT - Excellent company and just fun, fun, fun.

Unfortunately I kept forgetting to take my camera OUT with me but I managed to get a couple of shots of the girls and I in our room.

Me, Jax and Jo

Me trying to get a close up so you can see the cool top I bought......groovey!

Me and Jax (love her top as well)

Weigh in

GAIN: 900 grams (no suprise there)
Total loss: 19.5kg (back under the 20kg...grrr!)
Current weight: 90.8kg (back over the 90kgs...grrr!)

Oh well can't do much about that and to tell the truth I'm really not concerned that much because I had an awesome time at Chris's and didn't think of my weight AT ALL or what was going into my mouth (food or drink) which is quite weird considering it was a bloggers get together.

I've built my bridge and am OVER IT! Roll on next week.

I have such a massive weekend planned I feel like I'm going to pee myself everytime I think of it (TMI??).

I'm going away with my 2 best mates, one from here in Wellington and one from Whangarei (use to live in the same street a couple of years ago) and we haven't been together for years. We have all got the same sense of humour and get on like sisters and we have finally got a weekend that we can all get together and just have fun. FUN will consist of staying at a nice hotel on Ponsonby Road in Auckland, shopping, drinking (lots of water and alcohol), eating (cafe's and restaurants for 3 days), shopping, chatting and shopping (did I already say that?).

All I really want to buy is a really good bra, you know the kind that sits you up as well as pushes everything together in a 'oh so sexy' 20 year old perky way that is also pretty (not conventional and ugly). I need this to go with two of my tops I got from Chris's party.
I also need a nice pair of flat casual shoes for the top and pants I got from ezibuy while also away in Palmy on the weekend. So that is my two priorities and then anything else I can find will be a bonus.

I love 3 days weekends...........

Plan for the rest of the week is to get my work here (work) up to date so I don't come back with a pile to do as well as get my house cleaned and a meal or two cooked for the boys on the weekend or they will live on takeaways (breakfast, lunch and dinner) even though they won't tell me that.

Blogger Mid Winter Xmas party!

Well where do I start?

Saturday I was up nice and early and down to soccer I went with the kids and they won which was a rare event and Reece scored 2 goals for his team and one for their team...hahaha (He is second from the left).

Then raced home and had a shower, bumped my bags in the car (which I'd packed the night before) and shot off to pick up Helena.

Gas bagged all the way to Palmy and couldn't believe we got there so quickly, shot to New World to get some supplies and arrived about 2.30pm.

Lyn, Lee-anne, ChubbyMum, ChubbyDad, Janene and Felicity were already there and drinking so Helena and I quickly got ourselves settled and the gabfest started.

Helena made a comment in her blog saying that apart from us eating the yummy dinner Chris and Stew put on, there wasn't a moment's silence. Everyone got on really well and I felt really comfortable with everyone.
Lynise turned up a bit later and she also just sat down and started chatting with everyone like we had known each other for ages (which really we have in a weird kind of way).
The Christmas present opening was hilarious and everyone got into the spirit of things.

ChubbyMum and Dad I have already met and just LOVED seeing them again.
Lynise was gorgeous and really bubbly.
Chris is of course the hostess with the mostess and made us all feel at home.
Janene was the life of the party and got us all up dancing (thanks for that sweets).
Felicity was a really down to earth lovely person and I really enjoyed meeting her.
Lyn had the best sense of humour and kept us all entertained with her games (ie. how looks and sounds like their blogs).
Lee-anne was really lovely and I felt really comfortable talking to her.
Helena is gorgeous and funny and the 'dancing queen' on the dance floor.
Stew (Chris's hubby) was amazing and cooked for us and then cleaned everything up the next morning (WHAT A MAN!) and was such a giggle when we were opening our Xmas presents.

Got drunk (no suprise there) but also drank 3 litres of water during the course of the night which REALLY helped with the head the following morning.
Had an excellent time jumping on Chris's computer with the girls and leaving comments (which I had to read the following morning to remember what I wrote).

Anyway here are some photo's in no particular order.

Group photo of us all

We did the clothes swap thing (I got 4 great tops and 1 pair of ¾ jeans) and then headed for bed at 11pm…………….pack of nanna’s we are!

Had the best sleep in Brylee’s room (thanks Brylee for giving us your room) and then grabbed a coffee before saying goodby to Chris and Stew (and kids) and headed to Ezibuy for a coffee with ChubbyMum and Dad and Felicity and then SHOPPED but only managed to find 1 pair of brown ¾ cargo sort of pants and a lime green long sleeved top (they look good together).
Dropped Felicity back at Chris’s house and off we went back to Wellington.
Got home about 2.30pm I think and got into my housework as the place looked like a tip. Managed to sit down about 9.30pm last night…………..*sigh*

I had an amazing time and I just loved meeting all you ladies, you were wonderful and I feel like when I read your posts now I will really be able to picture how you say things now which will be totally different.

A BIG THANK YOU to Chris and Stew for opening their beautiful big home to us all.

P.S. I don’t know who brought what but all the food was delicious and when I put on weight this week because I just HAD to have a bit of everything, I’m blaming ALL OF YOU!!!!!! Nah just joking.

Social events

Well I have been eating healthy and drinking my water for the last couple of days but not exercising (that's going to bite me in the butt eh?).

The next couple of days is going to be a challenge.

It is 11.40am at the moment (Friday)and I have a half day today.

First on the agenda is lunch with a girlfriend, then into Westfields shopping centre to get my eyebrow's waxed and then go and get some booze for Chris's party and finally a meeting with Reece's teacher at 3pm .. phew! Somewhere in there I have to dye my mow (oh yes I do) and shave everything...LOL.

Tonight I'm going to get some groceries for the boys on the weekend as I am out of everything and also go and get my fruit and vege's at the river bank markets tomorrow morning, followed by Reece's soccer at 10am and get to Helena's before 12.00 to pick her up and shot up to Palmy for the Mid Winter Xmas party...yeeha!

I intend to be a little social butterfly at the party and get to know EVERYONE while drinking lots and eating little.....hehehehe.
Crash in Chris's recently redecorated spare room and then drag Helena and I back to Wellington sometime on Sunday.

I am already stressing that I am going to forget the camera or xmas pies or present or booze (god forbid!) or a nightie......Yes I can be a stress cadet sometimes.

SEE YOU ALL (who are going) TOMORROW - Woohoo

Weigh in

Gain: 500g
Total loss: 20.4kg
Current weight: 89.9kg

Unfortunately that was expected so I can moan and groan about it. I figure with last weeks huge loss and this weeks gain, I have still lost 2.1kgs in 2 weeks so I'm not complaining.

Not much happening here today, rang Leenie and arranged our travel plans for Saturday. We are going to leave at 12.00 noon so I can go to Reece's soccer in the morning as I am also the Team Manager, so we should get to Chris's about 2.30pm - 3pm?.

Didn't get on my bike last night as I was stuffed once I got home from weigh in and went into Mummy/housewife mode. There was also a programme on that I wanted to watch last night (The Rich list) so when that finished I toddled off to bed.
